CASE STUDY: ACCESS & AUTHENTICITY
Partner: Black and Corporate x H&M
Program: Strategic Panel Facilitation & Empowerment Coaching
Focus: Breaking Barriers for Black Professionals in Luxury Fashion & Corporate Spaces
THE CHALLENGE: The "Access Gap" for Black Talent
In high-end corporate sectors like luxury fashion and tech, Black professionals often face invisible walls where access is historically gatekept by pedigree or exclusive networks. Black and Corporate’s mission is to tear down these walls by providing organic community spaces. The challenge for their Chicago event was to move beyond a standard "corporate mixer" to create a safe, high-engagement space that provided meaningful, unscripted dialogue and psychological safety for professionals.
THE SOLUTION: Strategic Panel Facilitation & Empowerment Coaching
Dr. Nikeya was selected because of her unique ability to read the energy of a room and provide truth that resonates. Serving on a panel backed by the global brand H&M, Dr. Nikeya went off-script to address the specific, unasked needs of the audience. She utilized her signature style to bridge the gap between high-level corporate aesthetics and raw, authentic community-building, ensuring the audience was actively participating in a 360-degree conversation.
THE RESULTS
1.
360-Degree Engagement
The session was characterized by heavy audience participation, with engagement continuing well past the scheduled wrap-up time.
2.
Exceeding Expectations
The H&M partnership team reported that the event was "so much better than imagined or expected" and set a new standard for their collaborative series.
3.
Expansion Momentum
The success of the Chicago engagement provided the "Proof of Concept" for Black and Corporate to plan expansions into new markets including D.C., Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta.
4.
Vetted Excellence
Leadership noted that Dr. Nikeya’s ability to "read the room" and address unspoken needs was a highlight of the entire collaboration.
"Dr. Nikeya didn’t just answer questions; she addressed the people in the room. She added a value to our conversation that made us realize we have to keep coming back at this level."
Candace Marie, Founder of Black in Corporate
